{Dishes: Sweet & Spicy Balsamic Drumsticks}

I've been on a little blogging hiatus. And it's simply because of a comment another local mom made about my blog and about me. I have said this a million times, this blog takes up so much time but I do it for the love of sharing advice and helping someone else. I've also got to meet some pretty fabulous mama's along the way, which is a huge win. But I let her judgy wudgy words get to me. As I often do, I worried too much about what she thought, rather than shrug it off.

Then it hit me, I want my daughter to be so secure in herself that she shrugs off judgy wudgy comments, so shouldn't I do the same? Sooooo, here is to trying a little harder to be the woman I want my daughter to be, secure in herself and strong enough to just shrug off the judgy wudgy ones.

Anyway, on to the important stuff; here is last nights crockpot dinner. It was absolutely delicious and easy peasy. The sauce alone was post worthy. But all of it together… well I am just saying you may need a trip to the grocery store.

Throwing in the mushrooms and black beans to cook with the drummy's was an after-thought but you will not regret it. I served it with some brown rice and a big glass of white wine.

Ingredients

8 - 10 drumsticks (thighs on the bone would also be great)

1/4 cup light agave

3 tbsp balsamic vinegar

3 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 chipotle pepper

(^*the ones in adobo sauce, more or less depending on how spicy you like it)

1 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp ground white pepper

1 tbsp Fresh cracked pepper

1 tbsp sea salt

Recipe

1. salt and pepper the drummy's

2. whisk the rest of the ingredients in a bowl

3. Add drummy's and sauce to crockpot and toss until well covered in the sauce

4. add can of rinsed organic black beans and mushrooms to one side if you'd like, squash would also go really well.

5. cook on high for 4 hours (low for 6 hours would also work)

Serve with brown rice or veggies but make sure and drizzle that sauce on everything...

Oh and we tried the Whole Foods Smoothies and Stories at our local store today (Dedham) and we both absolutely loved it.

I even snuck in some grocery shopping and the babe knocked out before we left the parking lot, so I obvi grabbed a latte from the Starbucks drive-thru! And now I am shamelessly typing from my car, outside of our house while she naps….

I'm curious to know what other kind of recipes you guys are looking for, so please share!
