John Pond, they had all the fixings for fun time on the water or simply a waterfront firepit and a fun pirate ship for the girls to play on!
Hey all,
This post comes to you uber delayed after double ear infections for both girls, and Birdie girl going for second round :( ! The exhaustion is always so hard! I don’t need much sleep, but after two weeks of zero sleep, this mama is hurting. I will say that looking at this video and photos really makes my heart burst, we gad so much fun together.
I am here to tell you that travel as a high risk family is possible! Tricky, yes,. Less exhausting than other travel, no. But possible, YES.
The girls had not been swimming since before the pandemic so our mission was to find a place that had an indoor pool and took our pup. Hubby put in the work on the internet and found some gems but none took dogs. So he opened up his search to stay in MA, which actually shortened our drive and gave us everything we wanted, ummm yes please.
It is not a luxe perfectly white linens kind of place but it was clean, quirky and made the absolute best place to get away from our to-do lists. Surprising the girls with the pool was my FAVORITE thing ever!!
What to do (safely) with kids (when you are still social distancing) And for those that aren’t as high risk as we are you can find some tips from past visits here too!
We did not visit the Children’s Museum but we hear it is small and fun! Call for the hours because they offer on and off season.
Art Museum, my little NY’ers at heart love taking their sketch books to the museum, this would have been so fun.
Mashpee Commons is great for bowling movies, food shopping and Zoe’s Pizza!
Wampanoag Museum, I was so bummed this wasn’t open, but we will be heading over this month as a field trip.
Popponesset Marketplace, we loved visiting these shops!
Love Roche Brothers for food shopping.
We got bagels from Bagel Haven, so so yummy.
We got seafood takeout from Cooke’s and it was decent but if you have the chance go to, Popponessett Inn, we went a few years back and loved the yummy cocktails and food out on the deck.
Market Place Cafe, outdoor market and the BEST hugest Lobster roll.
So many ice cream spots but I have fond memories of this place, and the waffle cones!!! Yummmm!
I have a few other suggestions and will continue to update this and an entire travel tab to my blog, so be sure to subscribe and stay connected via Instagram!
Link for the house is here!
Video of my tour is below!
Everything was clean but the house definitely is a no frills lake house. If you are super picky I’d suggest bringing your own blankets (the sheets were new and lovely but the blankets could use some updating, maybe more pool /beach towels too. The ummm “little friend” on the walls were not our favorites but hey, to each their own! Hahaha. We brought Keurig cups, and the kitchen was well stocked (even with spices!) because we cooked a lot but it was also easy spot to get takeout. It was a perfect get away for our family With a lot of space to homeschool, puzzle and most of all tire out the girls in the pool!
If you end up booking the house please tag us when you share, we love to know when you guys enjoy our recommendations! Oh and let them know that the Rowe family from Natalie Marie & Co Blog sent you!
xoxo
